I went to Sanderson Gallery in Newmarket last weekend and viewed the beautifully sculptural works by artist Ray Haydon. They look like frozen ribbons of time. They look quite delicate however they are very robust and each has a different surface texture.

Artwork from Ray Haydon

Beautiful curving sculptural forms.

A few weeks back I had the good fortune to visit Sam Mitchell’s bold, playful, painted works at Melanie Roger Gallery in K Road  Auckland. These new paintings are typical of her colourful style. Some of my favourites were painted on clear plastic glass which made the works sing. Close to the space was another gallery that I was lucky to stop by. Limn Gallery in Ponsonby had an assortment of beautiful pop art works. One of my favourites was from the talented Auckland artist Brad Novak aka “Blood Pop”.

Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple located at 16 Stancombe Road in Auckland currently has an excellent art exhibition showcasing art from all over New Zealand. I feel honoured to be one of the artists showing at this phenomenal site. The art exhibition is open until the 29th of November. the 29th of November.

Sam Mathers art

Amazing work!

I was very fortunate to visit around 10 extremely varied and very talented artists in Raglan last weekend. The weather was perfect and the vibes were wonderful. My personal favourite were the funky bright paintings of Sam Mathers. I will definitely go again next year.

Simon Stockley makes beautiful, bright, vivid imaginary scenes that are strangely familiar and easily recognisable. Traditionally a painter Simon also creates amazing futuristic images on the computer.

Another artist currently showing at Endemic world is the abstract painter Alice Berry. She has a number of organic, textural works that come out of the picture frame. The colours are earthy and meditative.
