This painting is based on the amazingly stunning sunsets found at Baylys Beach. The stars are pretty amazing too! Im just trying to find out the best way of painting those! Next time you are in the neighbourhood make sure to drop by for a cuppa.

Im really loving these cold winter nights in the studio! Nothing beats letting your paintbrush and mind wander while listening to music and rain on the roof. Watch this space for more paintings coming up!

Living in New Zealand is a true blessing. We have endless amounts of fresh air and quite a bit of sunshine. The beaches are usually uncrowded and the crisp, clear light is truly dazzling. Here are a couple of images that I have recorded while walking on my local beach. I intend on using these as a base for a new series of paintings.

I came across a small painting of mine last week and thought I would share! This was created when I was living in Japan. The surf over there is amazing! This piece is my tribute to the sunny, perfect waves Japan gets in the typhoon season.

Plein air paintings holds a special place in my heart. There is nothing quite like being outside in the elements capturing the essence of an area. The mood or feeling seems to resonate through a work even more when the artist is immersed in the subject.

Cosmos painting

I was so happy to come across another one of my earlier paintings recently and it made me so happy! This particular painting is pretty big ..almost two metres wide! I arranged locally sourced pohutukawa twigs to resemble the universe ( cosmos). They really pop out at you!

I was extremely fortunate to drop a couple of new paintings to the The Wharf Gallery in Raglan last weekend. Have you been there? It’s an amazing gallery with plenty of contemporary New Zealand art to view. Make sure to pop in next time you’re in town.

What a weekend! It was so nice checking out a bunch of amazing New Zealand galleries in Auckland. It really feels like there is almost too much incredible art out there! Some of the art hotspot zones are the CBD, Newmarket, Parnell, K-Road, Ponsonby and Devonport. I was lucky enough to catch up with an old friend who has a painting of mine. Its always great to catch up with old friends.

I just had to post this image again because I feel so passionate about printmaking! This particular print is limited to 20. I will be getting a bunch of these framed…if you want me to send you a finished pic please let me know!

I love , love , love trying out new things with my art. I usually begin with a photograph as a base and then let the work grow organically and intuitively.
