I was extremely fortunate to drop a couple of new paintings to the The Wharf Gallery in Raglan last weekend. Have you been there? It’s an amazing gallery with plenty of contemporary New Zealand art to view. Make sure to pop in next time you’re in town.

“Two Moons” oil painting

What a weekend! It was so nice checking out a bunch of amazing New Zealand galleries in Auckland. It really feels like there is almost too much incredible art out there! Some of the art hotspot zones are the CBD, Newmarket, Parnell, K-Road, Ponsonby and Devonport. I was lucky enough to catch up with an old friend who has a painting of mine. Its always great to catch up with old friends.

I just had to post this image again because I feel so passionate about printmaking! This particular print is limited to 20. I will be getting a bunch of these framed…if you want me to send you a finished pic please let me know!

I love , love , love trying out new things with my art. I usually begin with a photograph as a base and then let the work grow organically and intuitively.

Man its so beautiful and inspiring living on the west coast of New Zealand. The beaches are usually slammed with huge waves generated from the Antarctic and the “roaring 40s”. Hopefully the energy from these waves is evident in my painting.

Huge things are happening this year at 3 Kelly Street for the artist Sean Mc Donnell lol. Sorry for taking ages between my last post and this one…I will be much more regular in future. Look out 2022! Hope you are well and have your goals all lined up for the year.

These is something hypnotic about the New Zealand bush. It looks like million different trees, shrubs and ferns all fit together in harmony. This particular print is based on a photo I took when I was last travelling through a small local bush near Hokianga. These are all hand pressed and limited to only 20.

To help celebrate my new website shop and the ability to buy prints direct, I’ve decided to give 4 screen prints away as a thankyou.

All I’m getting people to do is either tag 3 friends, or share the competition to their Instagram feed or Facebook feed. They can enter as many times as they like as long as its not on the same day. The live draw will be on the 23rd of October at 8pm.

Exciting times ahead!

The latest lock down hasn’t been easy for anyone…we have down it before so we can do it again!

I have been utilising the time as wisely as possible rearranging older paintings and also (my favourite part) creating more!

I absolutely love painting, it keeps me grounded, centered and connected.

Sometimes its difficult to work full time as a teacher and still stay motivated enough to paint in the evening in my studio when I get home. Its vital to keep enough energy left for my real love ( making art) .

Here is a new painting that I’ve been working on for around four months. It has lots and lots of layers. I enjoyed the process and also the finished product.
